Company History Lockwood Jewelers was established in 1978 by artist and jeweler Cheryl Wallace, as a jewelry design and repair studio. It was later expanded to include diamond sales, as well as fine colored stones and pearls. Cheryl earned a BFA from Drake Univerity in 1974, majoring in jewelry and silversmithing. She apprenticed as a bench jeweler at Josephs Jewelers in Des Moines, Iowa, from 1973 to 1978. Cheryl then opened her own shop, and has been creating fine jewelry for a coast to coast clientele ever since. |

| The Lockwood Crest Cheryl traces her ancestry to the Lockwoods, who came to America in 1630. Robert Lockwood emigrated from England on the ship "Mary and John" of Governor Winthrop's fleet. The motto inscribed on the banner, "tutis en undus" translates to "together over the waves."
